From CEO to Chain Master

I spent 18 years as CEO of Applied Business Integration Corporation before turning my attention to jewelry design. In 1997, I relocated the company to Monterey, California—a move that would eventually have an unexpected influence on the direction of my life.

After retiring from the corporate world, I wanted to explore something completely different and, more importantly, something creative. I discovered metalsmithing while studying in the Art Dimensional program at Monterey Peninsula College. Working in the studio and learning traditional metalsmithing techniques opened an entirely new world to me.

For the past twelve years, I have continued to develop my work as a jewelry artist, experimenting with metal clay, enamel, ancient beads, sterling silver, gold, and other materials. I am particularly interested in combining traditional techniques with contemporary design and seeing how my own experiences and cultural heritage find their way into the pieces I create.

Designs by Myriad grew out of that exploration. I still enjoy the process of learning, experimenting, and discovering where an idea will lead. I am fortunate to have customers who understand and appreciate handmade jewelry, and their response to my work continues to encourage me as an artist.
